The Battlefield 1 weather system was supposed to be absolutely amazing. It was a huge addition that would change up the way people played. The developers were even saying that it made a huge impact during online play and people that can adapt to the changing weather will succeed. Well, the Battlefield 1 beta has been out for a little while now and people are complaining about the weather like crazy. On first thought, I assumed it just wasn't as major as the developers made it seem. Maybe it was just a little annoying, but didn't change the game at all. The real reason people are unhappy is because the weather isn't the same for all the players!
Two players in the exact same game at the same time.
Now, I'm assuming that this is only because it's in beta stage. By the time the game launches, this needs to be fixed, finalized, and ready to go. I can't imagine seeing a giant sandstorm on my screen while my friend next to me is staring up at a big blue sky. People were reporting strange deaths. They were sniped through a heavy sandstorm where it was impossible to be seen. It wasn't until people began doing comparisons that the community realized, "Hey, we have different weather right now." It's believe that the weather is client based, rather than server based. Basically, the entire server won't experience the same weather, as it is unique to each player. Somebody could be running through the rain while another person battles sand, and a third person could be flying his plane up into a blue sky. This is a major problem and I can't believe that the beta was launched in this state. Did they think nobody would notice? They thought this wouldn't slip through the cracks? Honestly, it's actually kinda funny.
