Monthly updates are a regular occurrence for the EA and DICE game, Battlefield 1. Or at least, they were. According to a blog post detailing the most recent DLC, these updates are coming to an end this June.

This decision coincides with the final expansion to the game, Rupture. In this, players will be able to try out a new game mode, called Shock Operations. Similar to the currently existing Operations, this 40-player fight has players battling over control sectors. Shock Operation varies in that the entire mission takes place on a single map, for more intense and fast-paced action. It will be available on five maps: Giants Shadow, Prise de Tahure, Lupkow Pass, Zeebrugge, and River Somme. Even though most of these are DLC maps, DICE says players of Shock Operations will still be able to access them.

It has been about 20 months since Battlefield 1 launched. And with a suspected new game on the horizon, it's no surprise that they're going to be shifting more man-power towards upcoming projects. Even so, it's unfortunate to see dedication taken away from an otherwise great game.
