DICE is calling the five pitiful single player missions "War Stories" in their new game, Battlefield 1. The single player trailer was released recently, and there was a lot of talk about the maps being much longer in the campaign. Maybe the maps are bigger, but the campaign might be significantly shorter. Hopefully these five war stories are divided up a little bit. I know that throughout the campaign you'll be playing as several different characters, each with their own specialty. Maybe each story is divided up into three or four chapter? I truly don't know, but I'm hoping that they will be.
While Battlefield has always been about multiplayer, rather than single player, I don't know how upset fans will be about this. The online is very good from what I've seen of it so far, so I haven't been let down with that aspect of the game. I've never beaten a Battlefield campaign, except for possibly Battlefield 3, but the last thing DICE needs to do is cut the single player fans out. Titanfall tried to do that a few years ago, and it didn't turn out so well. I have faith in DICE and I'm sure the campaign won't be a thirty-five minute experience by any means. I'm excited for the launch of Battlefield 1 on October 21st, and hopefully it doesn't disappoint!
