Specifically, over Twitter:
"I was just told about a reckless story about Battleborn going F2P that is false. There are no plans to convert Battleborn free to play,"
"We have some unannounced plans to do a trial version of the game that would be free and from which retail can be purchased along with DLC."
He then continued to engage with his audience in a way that's uniquely Randy, in that he got kind of mad but acted cool enough about it that he couldn't really be accused of being childish. So that's cool. Regardless, it seems ol' Battleborn will stay fee-to-pay for the time being, so it can continue to languish under the heel of Overwatch.
But still, developer fallout is always fun. Let's watch that.
