A recent tweet by Namco Bandai shows viewers a small video asking who's next for the upcoming anime fighting game, Jump Force. While the video itself doesn't reveal anything, fans are looking at the text caption that came with it, which teases at the idea of Jotaro, a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, as the next fighter.
"YES! YES! YES! YES! Another Hero will be joining the JUMP FORCE!
Are you ready to Unite to Fight? Pre-Order #JUMPFORCE today and start playing on Feb. 15th"
To anyone unfamiliar with the show, this would look like generic excitement expressed by a publishers social media manager. But to JoJo fans, it's a quick and easily identifiable reference to the show. In a particular scene, Jotaro is interacting with a mind reader, who was constantly hearing the words "NO! NO! NO! NO!" repeated in his mind. It's not until the mind reader asks if he plans on punching him with both fists at once does he instead hear "YES! YES! YES!." Since it's broadcast, this has become a repeated meme of sorts in the JoJo community.
To further solidify the idea that a JoJo character is joining Jump Force's fray, Viz Media, the publisher of the show, commented on that same tweet saying "hmmm intensifies" which, again, is a popular JoJo reference.
For now, nothing is official. But don't be surprised if we see more JoJo in the near future.
Jump Force releases on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15.
