We assume it's for Google's home console.

Bandai Namco, the developer/publisher responsible for games like Katamari Damacy, Soul Calibur, and the upcoming Jump Force, appears to have partnered up with Google for... something.

The Bandai Namco US Twitter account recently posted an image of some coffee with the subtext claiming Google invited them to work on game development.

"Thank you for inviting us @Google! We're excited to work with you in 2019 to make video games more fun for everyone!"

This is all we know as to their plans right now. Neither Bandai Namco nor Google has expanded on the statement. It's also not clear what the coffee, which brandishes the company's logo in the froth, has to do with the partnership.

We've known that Google has been wanting to break into the gaming world for a bit now. They've already made claims of a home console and patent info for a Google controller was recently discovered. So if we had to guess, Bandai Namco will be producing some launch titles for the Google console. It's the "make video games more fun for everyone" statement that has us thinking it might be something less direct than a game itself. All we can do is speculate right now.

Stay tuned as the story develops.
