Atari was once a video game giant. Though they would fall to the sidelines to Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, the brand is still well and alive, however. And now they're back with their classic vaporwave racing game, Night Driver.

This game will offer a variety of retro-futuristic vehicles to race with down neon black highways. Compare to its 40-year-old predecessor, Night Driver 2018 will offer better performance, customizations, breathtaking locations, and a 360-degree showroom.

This will be an interesting homage to the racing game from 1976. At the time, the world was simply blackness with white rectangles to show you the road. A translucent overlay of a car interior was your only indication that you were driving a vehicle. Now we have the power of modern graphics to better portray the vibes the game intended.

This is a fantastic time to introduce Night Driver with both mobile gaming and the vaporwave aesthetics growing increasingly popular in the passing years.

Developed by Brighton, U.K.-based Studio Gameaholic, the new Night Driver is already available in Canada for Android and iOS devices. No word on when an international release date would be.
