Now, I’m not exactly a history buff, but I am a history FAN—and I’ve always liked the Assassin's Creeds games in theory, even if I could never play one, as tempted as I was.
This next game, Assassin's Creeds Unity, however, might force my hand. It’s set during the FRENCH REVOLUTION—and I love the French Revolution. I love me the French Revolution hardcore.
Here’s the trailer they showed for the game at E3 today, complete with four-player co-op:
Other than what you see in the trailer, however, there’s very little information revealed that we didn’t know already thanks to the leak a while back. You play an assassin (or Assassins) aiding the rebels and slaying the aristocracy and their soldiers. Presumably it ends when you’re kicking King Louis XVI’s head around like a soccer ball.
Football, excuse me, this is set in Europe after all.
UPDATE: A little more information was gleamed from a recent updated pannel discussing the new Assassin's Creed game in depth. We now know that the main character's name is Arnaud Dorian, and he was the hooded figure using the crossbow and cutlass. The other assassin's are thusfar unnamed. We also got to learn about a new "dynamic mission" system in the game: for example, if you were mission to kill an urban bandit leader you might encounter "side-missions" as simple as stopping a pickpocketing or as complex as solving a murder mystery.
