Now that the video game voice actors union is no longer on strike, some important roles are able to be filled once more. In this case, it's the role of Chloe Price, voiced by Ashly Burch.
Square Enix, the publishers of Life is Strange, announced that the voice actors for Chloe Price and Max Caulfield (Ashly Burch and Hannah Telle, respectively) will be returning to the studio to record for a bonus episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm. A special bonus to be included in the deluxe edition of this Life is Strange prequel.
Being a fan favorite, Burch's absence was upsetting to the game's community. While she started the role of Chloe in the original Life is Strange, she was voiced by Rhianna DeVries in the prequels.
Burch was unable to reprise her role due to the SAG-AFTRA picket lines, though she still made sure to be a part of the game's development. She was a script consultant to ensure that the writing matched Chloe's style and spirit.
After almost two years of negotiations, SAG-AFTRA has settled with major gaming publishers earlier this month. Now voice actors will have fairer wages and more transparency in their work. This agreement means that once again the big name actors can return to recording for the big name publishers.
