Ark: Survival Evolved Is Getting a Game Changing Update: v256

Underwater Bases and Teleporters. Yes.

Ark: Survival Evolved is due for its next update (v256) this Thursday, and with it comes a lot of new exciting content that will make life under water viable. Ark: Survival Evolved is a huge open world, and the ocean is no different. In it are tons of monstrous creatures, and very sought after resources. There are a lot of perks to underwater travel, and finally, players will be able to make the water their home. I can't wait to see how underwater bases work out in PVP, and what kind of creative homes will be made in PVE.

Along with update 256, a 'total inventory menu redesign' will be coming, and players couldn't be happier as its been highly anticipated for quite some time now. Along with 4 new dinosaurs, Aquatic and Amphibious creature breeding is finally making its way into the game as well as Tek underwater bases, tek mosa saddles, tek power generators and tek teleporters. Between the underwater bases and the teleporters, the game is about to jump up a notch in technology. The inventory and UI menu redesign is probably the most crucial parts of the update as the current inventory UI is pretty messy. It definitely should have been redesigned a long time ago, but better late than never I guess.

This is definitely one of Ark: Survival Evolved's most anticipated updates, and they definitely made sure to pack it full of content because of its high anticipation. Studio Wildcard has consistently pushed out timely updates (for the most part) and continues to add more fun and interesting elements to the game. Recently, Studio Wildcard released a DLC (which is strange for an early access game), Ark: Scorched Earth that puts players in a desert-like environment. While it did provide a different experience, it was more of a re-skin than anything, and the original state of the game continues to be the most popular.

Here's the list...
  • New Mechanic: Aquatic & Amphibious Creature Breeding
  • New Dino: Equus!
  • New Dino: Leedsichthys!
  • New Dino: Ichthyornis!
  • New Dino: Iguanodon!
  • New Structures & Mechanic: Tek Underwater Bases
  • New Structure: TEK Teleporter
  • New Structure: TEK Mosa Saddle
  • New Structure: Tek Power Generator
  • Total Inventory Menu redesign (other UI's coming soon!)
  • Flyer Nerf
Ark: Survival Evolved is known to get very frequent updates, with new content pouring in constantly. Although it is in early access, the developers seem dedicated to providing the best experience possible, though the game does lack a lot in the optimization territory. While Ark: Survival Evolved is not lacking in content, the game has been in development for a while, and even though it's been extremely successful, Studio Wildcard has not confirmed an official release date, nor do they seem like they have intentions to release anytime soon. Hopefully, this is an early access game that actually makes it out of early access, because It has so much potential to be an absolutely amazing game.
