The men behind Ark: Survival Evolved is back again, with less science and just as many large lizard monsters as before. Directors Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak have announced a new game Thursday during the Game Awards, a pirate-based MMO called Atlas.
The reveal trailer shows a large open world, full of piraty players. They participate in brawls, pvp, skeleton monsters, ship duels, and even boat building. The game will use Nvidia's WaveWorks technology, giving it some fantastic water effects. It's not clear how much of this is genuine and how much is reveal trailer magic. In many ways, it looks like Sea of Thieves, but less cartoonish.
More information is due soon since Atlas is expected to release next year on Xbox One's game preview program.
