Progress doesn't carry over, for example.

A great deal of new information about BioWare's upcoming RPG Anthem released in the last year. We saw gameplay footage, release dates, and other tantalizing goodies. But only now are we seeing something more tangible and informative: demo details.

Some games release a demo before the games formal launch to build hype. That exact option will be available for Anthem as well, for pre-order folks, at least. BioWare producer Micheal Gamble has revealed some helpful details about the VIP demo, including the restrictions therein, on Twitter.

The VIP demo itself will be available on January 25 through 27 for all platforms, while the game itself releases February 22. Currently still a work in progress, the demo will let the player level up to somewhere between level 10 and 15. It's important to note that progress will not carry over into the main game, but players can earn special items for participating.

Gameplay wise, the demo is expected to  cover a little bit of everything, including the player hub Tarsis and some freeplay.

What content will be available in the two demos coming in June and February? And will progress be saved for release? Can't wait to get my hands on @anthemgame!

Micheal Gamble - @GambleMike
A good cross section of stuff. Missions, a stronghold, some Tarsis, some freeplay. Start Level 10. No progress carried into release.

Gamble has been flooded with questions about the game, including things like livestream permissions and music composers. If you have your own unanswered questions, try checking his twitter out.

It sounds like a great deal of effort is being put into creating a worthwhile demo. The VIP Demo takes place from January 25 - 27, available to anyone that digitally pre-orders the game. Anthem itself releases on February 22, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (on Origin).
