Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp released less than 48 hours ago, and in that time fans have been going through a range of emotions both good and bad. While the game itself has been great, it has been fraught with server troubles since its worldwide release.
Earlier this week Nintendo surprised us with the short notice announcement that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp would be in only a few days. Before this, the game was only available as a soft release in Australia. This prompted many users to spoof their phone into the Australian app stores in an effort to play early.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is arguably the most "online" adaptation of the series so far, allowing you to have a list of friends that you can see, visit their camps, and even buy from their own personal stores.
What Nintendo didn't prepare for was the digital flood this will have on the servers handling the online portion of the game. The mobile market is able to reach an extremely large market, and as such so is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. It is presumably due to this that the game has been riddled with communication errors.
Playing this game currently comes in waves of "fine" and "literally cannot" depending on how the servers feel at the moment. With any luck, this will be resolved in due time. Until then, don't expect a smooth experience.
