The winter season is upon us; in other words, it's when you get to feel all your resources drained from you as you try to appease people with gifts. Or in this case, animals.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp released about a week and a half ago, and it has already received its first special event. As of today (November 30), players can participate in a non-specific winter festival event that will run until December 25. The event adds winter style furniture, clothing, and a new resource used exclusively towards these items.

The holiday event began this morning and will end at 1 AM on December 26. During this time, the player will be able to collect "candy canes" as a building resource whenever they complete a villager's requests. The exclusive purpose of these striped items is to act as a building material for the holiday furniture. A number of goals have also been added which reward players whenever they fulfill a certain number of requests, or when they build a holiday-themed item. These rewards include more candy canes, as well as some holiday items themselves (I'm looking pretty fly in those Santa boots).

Holidays and events were always one of the most exciting aspects of the Animal Crossing series of games. Usually, this time is taken up by toy day, where the player is to collect a list of what their villagers want the most so that they can deliver it to the gift-giving reindeer, Jingle.

This event does not hinder normal gameplay in any way and is nothing more than a good time to be had. If you haven't tried Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, this is a great time to jump in and bask in the festivities.
