Looking for an indie-based RPG to satiate your thirst for... well RPGs? Anima Studio Project and BadLand Indie announced that Anima: Gate of Memories will be released sometime in Q2 of 2016 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Not only will this be receiving a digital release, but a retail release has been arranged for later this year.
Of course you're curious: Anima: Gate of Memories is a third-person action RPG taking place in the world of Gaia that's focused on combat and exploration. It's an open-ended title where actions will impact the story, ultimately deciding the characters' fates. As for the characters? They're known as The Bearer and Ergo, who are agents of the society called Nathanial, which protects humans from any destruction and darkness. These main characters are to capture an ancient artifact called The Byblos, which has been stolen. After sometime, they manage to catch up to the thief in the middle of an ancient construction, but then the entire area is engulfed by light. The Bearer and Ergo wake inside a tower, accompanied by strange and fearsome creatures.
This is actually based on the international novel series Anima Beyond Fantasy, and the team who has written the novels are actually crafting the game! Pretty cool, huh? Look forward to its release sometime soon, as it is finally prepped for release!
