With great power, comes great responsibility.

Hardware enthusiasts are in luck as the AMD Ryzen Processors are finally launching on March 2nd. Though they haven't officially released yet, some people have gotten their hands on them earlier, and let's just say a little bit of history was made.  A team of professionals using the benchmarking tool Cinebench R15, pushed the Ryzen 7 1800X to its limits, reaching a total score of 2449 beating the previous world record of 2410. Do not try this at home kids, as very experienced over-clockers made this possible, with the help of an extreme environment.

A YouTube video was uploaded of this world record test, but it was quickly taken down. Although, there is still a Vimeo link that shows the World Record being achieved, as well as a screenshot of the benchmark results.  In the screenshot, you can see that the Ryzen 1800X reached a CPU speed of roughly 5.2 GHz, of course only made possible with the help of some liquid nitrogen cooling which brought the temperature down to about -200C.

Of course with great power comes a hefty price, and I guess some responsibility too. The Ryzen 7 comes in three different models, with the 1800X obviously being the most powerful and most expensive. It has a base speed of 3.6GHz and a turbo clock speed of 4.0GHz. The Ryzen 7 1800X will be available for purchase in a few days at $499. Clearly a very expensive processor, but worth it for people who are experienced with overclocking. If you got some money building a hole in your pocket, and you think your PC deserves an upgrade, the Ryzen 7 definitely seems like a great new addition to any gamers arsenal.
