Unfortunately for horror fans, Allison Road has been suddenly canceled. Ironically, the incredibly popular horror game was inspired by the tragically lost Silent Hills. As of now, details are pretty slim. All gamers have to go on is a single tweet promising more details to follow.

Scarily abrupt.

Allison Road went viral shortly after its announcement. After the wildly hyped Silent Hills dream team project fell apart, gamers latched on to the Allison Road project and Kickstarter. If this tweet doesn't turn out to be a hoax, the news comes out of nowhere. Game developer Lilith Ltd. even found a publisher in Team17, allowing it to drop the need for crowdfunding. It is difficult to imagine what could instantly knock the project dead, but hopefully the next few days will reveal the details.

This has been a pretty tragic era for horror fans. Many gamers are still feeling the wound from Konami's cancellation shtick. Allison Road tried to fill the hole left behind, and now there's no telling if any other project will rise to the occasion. However, all we can do is keep our eyes peeled.
