This gives off such a Bioshock vibe.

The psychological horror genre is often hit or miss, but delve into the concepts of the human mind. Often, the genre centers around the magnitude and the elasticity of the mind, testing the barriers to see how long the mind last before it "snaps."

And to say that a VR psychological horror isn't interesting would be a lie--at least in my eyes. Indie studio Ape Law, comprised of veterans from Bioshock: Infinite, the Tomb Raider reboot, and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, is bringing Episode 1 of psychological horror Albino Lullaby to the PC tomorrow, September 15. The game will be fully compatible with VR, with plenty of suspense and Alfred Hitchcock/David Lynch inspiration.

According to Justin Pappas, creative director of Albino Lullaby and Founder of Ape Law:

"We are hitting the reset switch on the genre and bringing horror games back to the days of film when suspense ruled and great masters like David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock used our minds to scare us more than anything onscreen."

A horror adventure title that doesn't rely on jump scares or gore (thank goodness), you play as yourself, escaping from a surreal Victorian town surrounded by underground cliffs. However, gamespace will toy with you, twisting and contorting in real time as you attempt to unravel all secrets of your existence.

Albino Lullaby will be completely player-driven, with no cutscenes. Additionally, you will be immersed in a deep background of characters and events and be able to play either stealthily or rush without mercy. If you have a VR headset on you, then be happy to know that Albino Lullaby has been built from the ground up for Oculus Rift, Vive, and Morpheus.

Episode 1 of Season 1 can be purchased on the official site or on Steam for $9.99, though if you'd like to save $5, you can purchase the entire Season Pass for $24.99.
