A year and a half ago - wait, has it been really a year and a half already? - The original Alan Wake was delisted from Steam and Xbox Live on May 15 due to music licensing issues.

Since then, there has been utter silence, until today, when Remedy Entertainment announced that Alan Wake is back on Steam, just in time for Halloween.

Better yet, the game will be discounted in celebration of Halloween.

And furthermore, for those hoping for a console re-release, Alan Wake will relaunch at some point in the future.

According to the official Twitter page of Remedy:

"Good news! Alan Wake is back on Steam.

Better news: the price will be discounted during Halloween, so go get your copy if you dont own the game yet. (Other digital platforms to follow.) http://bit.ly/AW-Steam

Big thanks to our partner and Alan Wakes publishers @Microsoft who were able to renegotiate the rights to the licensed music in Alan Wake, so that the game can be sold again."

So if we have anyone to thank for, it is Microsoft, who was able to renegotiate the rights to the licensed music.
