Agents of Mayhem, the open-world hero-based bodyswapping sandbox… whatever it is, it was announced earlier last year with a pretty stellar trailer that promised whacky fun and crazy characters. A new trailer for the game has been announced, which is cool, but not as cool as a release date, which finally reveals when we’ll be able to travel to future South Korea and battle the villainous “Legion”, a problematic gang of no-good busybodies with up to 12 heroes, 3 per mission.

First, the trailer.

"In a case of bad versus evil this elite band of often unstable misfits, armed with a variety of crazy weapons, work under the watchful eye of Persephone Brimstone, ex-LEGION lieutenant, and her assistant Friday, to bring down LEGION and its mysterious leader, the Morningstar. Players can build and customize their squads however they choose, switching from Daisy, a mini-gun wielding, beer-swigging, foul-mouthed roller derby girl, to Rama, an immunologist with a futuristic bow firing energy arrows, to Red Card, a loveable but psychotic German soccer hooligan with a temper that can literally clear a crowd."

And look, they even got some Saints Row in there! In fact, I would be genuinely surprised if Johnny Gat didn’t show up at some point, because we all know how much Volition loves that character for… whatever reason!

Anyway, it looks like goofy fun, and for you PC, Xbox One, and PS4 owners, you’ll get a chance to save the world come August 15th in the US, and August 18th for the rest of the world.
