Deep Silver and Volition got a chance to show gamers some gameplay footage for Agents of Mayhem. Lead Writer Jason Blair sat down with the Twitch staff to talk about the game and show off some super powered action.

No subtlety here

We already knew the game was set in the Saints Row universe. Blair further revealed that the game takes place after a specific ending from their Gat Out of Hell DLC for Saints Row 4. It's evident how much comics and cartoons has influenced the design of the game. Bright colors and over the top effects constantly fill the screen. The gameplay itself has players swapping among three different heroes while out on the field. Blair admitted that there are 12 heroes in all, but it is unsure whether or not players will get to pick their teams or if the story chooses that for them. As expected, each character has his or her own personality, weapons, and abilities. Unfortunately, Agents of Mayhem only has a single player option. That's not saying co-op gameplay can't be integrated later, but it is not going to be part of the game at launch. Speaking of launch, Agents of Mayhem is slated for a 2017 release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
