"When you look at our IP library, we think there's a lot of IP in there the fans are going to want to experience again… I'd say stay tuned for some future announcements, but just beyond pure remasters, there are also a lot of opportunities now to innovate and think about totally new content within these IPs."
Good news? Maybe. There have been no shortage of Spyro games and Crash games, but much like the more resilient '90s mascot Sonic the Hedgehog, only the first couple of games were ever very good – and they were already remade. Presumably they could remake these games more completely and make them actually good (although how they’d do that with the Dark n’ Edgy Spyro phase would be beyond me) but it’s also possible, in theory, they’re talking about some different IP’s. Activiison has been around for a while, after all.
As for the possibility of new games, well: that’s a lot more believable for Spyro, who has remained relevant in modern pop culture thanks to being the mascot for Skylanders, but I very much doubt anyone would be complaining about a new Crash game.
Unless it’s like… Bubsy-level of bad, I guess.
