A Third Cow Level Appears in Diablo 3

And it's "mooving".

I don't recall if it was ever something we reported on, so just in case, let's backup for a few months here: way back in July of last year, Diablo 3 Patch 2.3 was launched, and with it came an updated version of Diablo 2's Horatic Cube, re-dubbed Kanais Cube after a member of the Diablo 3 team who passed away prematurely. This memorial was touching and useful, but ultimately, we all moved on, and Kanai Cube users likely rarely spare a thought anymore for the man who gave it its new name.

Well, that didn't sit too pretty with the folks over at Blizzard, and they've prepared yet another way to celebrate the life and times of Kevin "Kanai" Griffith: and it's the most quintessentially Diablo way possible.

A new cow level has appeared.

To reach it, you have to go to the the Immortal Throne in Act 3's Ruins of Sescheron, where you first find the cube. Originally, going there and finding the spirit of Kanai would only prompt him to tell the players the time is not right... but now, it seems, the time IS right, because talking to him now will summon a portal into a new realm called Kanais Stomping Grounds, where you get the privilege of slaying cows in mass alongside Kanai himself.

And apparently he's quite the badass.

Anyway, as for this sudden opening, it stems from the fact that March is actually the birth-month of our fallen friend, so to celebrate, you get the chance to slay bloodthirsty bovine at his side. No cow king or queen, no hordes of loot just blood-splattering fun.

Get on it now, though, because the portal will close at the end of the month!
