A Streamer Named Ninja Just Smashed Twitch's View Record

It was little over a month ago that we reported that Dr. Disrespect, following his glorious return to Twitch after a hiatus to deal with “personal issues”, apparently broke Twitch by breaking the record for most concurrent views in one stream, with a sizable 387,000 viewers tuning it at once to see his disrespectful shenanigans. It was a fact he was quite proud of, which is why this next bit of news is probably going to sting him most of all: a streamer named Ninja has just obliterated that record.

See, the thing is, Ninja doesn’t have the crazy-mean antics and r00d d00d persona that Dr. Disrespect employs to keep his users engaged. He has something arguably far more impressive: Drake as a follower. And yes, THAT Drake. The one with 36.7 million followers on Twitter.

So when Drake tweeted that he and Ninja would be streaming a few rounds of Fortnite together, people tuned in. 607,000 people at once, to be specific.

For Drake fans, the conversations that followed in the stream, the two talking about Fortnite and life and stuff, would be a fascinating inside look to their favorite singer's life. For everyone else, it’s just another broken record. And for the record: Twitch didn’t break once during the stream. So there's one more grain of salt for your wound. Dr. Disrespect.

...Oh, and apparently now Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom has joined the stream now too. Am I the only person who hasn't heard of this Ninja guy?!
