After some searching, and trading hands, a gaming preservation group has managed to find a Nintendo Switch console from 2016, about a year older than when the console released commercially.
Forest of Illusion, a Nintendo preservation group organized by @togemet2 and @Marionova64, recently posted on Twitter, announcing the acquisition of a Nintendo Switch developer console from a seller in Hong Kong. The system is reportedly from April 2016, making it almost a year older than when the system released commercially in March 2017.
The console had its internal data backed up and saved away. The console itself has been sent to someone for safe keeping. They did remark on some of the physical differences, including different iconography for the power and volume, different screws, and a designation of DPRD.
Nintendo product, especially rare ones like prototype consoles, are a tremendously valuable item in the gaming collectors world. This is a one of a kind find that make prove invaluable after a number of years. It sounds like nothing tremendously noteworthy was found in the system files, though.
How long until someone comes across a Switch from 2015?
