A Hat in Time, the adorable 3D platformer by Gears for Breakfast had a slew of new content and features announced recently in a new video at Gamescom 2018, including DLC, Co-op mode, and a Nintendo Switch version.

The video, viewable below, begins with details for their upcoming DLC, dubbed "Seal the Deal." Originally a stretch goal on Kickstarter, this expansion introduces a full, new chapter for the player to enjoy. The player joins the workforce of a large cruise ship, run primarily by a team of small seals.

This DLC includes a new game mode as well. Titled "Death Wish," this mode is a boss rush style option where each boss has been reworked for additional difficulty. Between the DLC, Death Wish, and new time rifts, the player will be able to unlock a collection of new outfits, flairs, badges, and even camera filters.

A new splitscreen co-op mode was also announced as separate from the DLC. This update will come free to all PC players, allowing them to team up with a friend as a new, unnamed character.

Before signing off, the developers revealed that a Nintendo Switch version of the game is in the works. This will presumably offer everything the other console versions do, with a release date of "coming soon."

This has caused some complaint amongst console backers, however. The Gears for Breakfast community manager stated on discord that the DLC will not be coming to consoles. This has upset console-based backers who were previously promised that the console versions of the game would have everything the PC version does.

The Seal the Deal DLC will launch September 13 on PC. For the 24 hours following, it will be free to download. After that, it will be given a $4.99 price tag. The co-op update will release the same day and will permanently be free.
