Watch Dogs 2 Shows Screen Tearing and Poor Frames on PS4

It's been a very rough ride for Watch Dogs 2 lately. First, the game wasn't getting enough pre-orders. Then the season pass seemed to be a little too expensive for what you get out of it. Now, there are some actual gameplay problems. On the PS4, Watch Dogs 2 has screen tearing and even some major frame issues. The game looks choppy at times and may even freeze up on players mid-game. Poor frames are extremely annoying, especially when driving around or pumping lead into a gang of naughty Nellies. It's not something that shouldn't be an issue in new games made by reputable companies.

Ubisoft isn't a no-name business here. They've been around for a really long time and they shouldn't allow for things like this to be sold. As for the frame rates, they drop randomly throughout the progression of the game, but some situations cause them to drop-off a bit more. For example, when moving in and out of buildings and when driving at high speed the frames tend to drop more frequently. Hopefully they're able to get this all fixed up. I have no idea how the game runs on PS4 Pro, but as for the standard PS4, things aren't looking too hot for old Ubisoft.

You can pre-order Watch Dogs 2 today and get your copy on Novemeber 15th. I'm not sure how much will change by then, but the game isn't bad. If frame rates are something you're able to power through, don't let it discourage you from buying the game. If you do tend to get annoyed with poor frames and some screen tearing, I would wait a little while.
