It appears as if Nintendo is delaying the 64GB Switch Card until 2019, if we are to believe the Wall Street Journal report.
According to the report, the delay may force gamers to wait just a little longer for some data-heavy games. At the time of this writing, the Nintendo Switch game cards feature a capacity of 32GB. Originally, Nintendo wished to bring higher-capacity cards in the second half of 2018, but the company has informed developers that they won't likely be available until 2019. As for the reason?
Well, the 64GB cards are suffering from technical issues. Apparently, not everyone is happy with the 64GB card in the first place. Some "outside developers" connected with the Wall Street Journal and reported that the Switch "may not be well-suited to data-heavy titles regardless of whether the 64-gigabyte card is available."
What could that possibly mean? Perhaps glitches, constant crashing, and more. However, massive games such as Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey are a little less than 16GB in size.
Oh well, in the meantime, it appears that it will not hinder the release schedule of many Switch games, at the very least. So far, the system has sold over 10 million units. Impressive, isn't it?
