Halo 5: Guardians, the game many have bought an Xbox One for, has been released... in beta form, and sadly is restricted to multiplayer. Starting today and running until January 18th, those who own the Master Chief Collection can join the spartan ranks and duke it out in team matches in a four-versus-four arena.
What also has kicked off alongside the beta is the annoucement for the pre-order bonuses. Those who pay the original price, $60, receive an exclusive poster, and those who pony up $100 for the Limited Edition obtain the poster, exclusive items stored in a steel book case, and extra digital goodies. But there is actually a third option, the Limited Collector's Edition, which includes everything from the previous versions as well as a commemorative statue signed by 343 Industries. The price? Oh, it will be a mere $250.
Seems a tad expensive, even for a collector's edition. Halo 5 is slated for release in the fall of 2015, and will introduce a familiar character to the game - Spartan Locke. According to an interview, Spartan Locke will be hunting Master Chief, but he will also be playable. Additionally, he will become a Spartan IV between Halo: Nightfall and Halo 5. So will Spartan Locke be friend or foe to Master Chief? Guess we will have to find out on release day, via YouTube, forums, or playing the actual game. To pre-order, just click on the link here.
