Alright, time for some more good news.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has resurfaced as the #1 news story thanks to the US’s “second wave” really being more of the first, it’s important to remember that the Black Lives Matter protest is still going strong as people demand that police stop killing minorities and, hey, maybe stop being such dicks overall. So far, a number of companies have stepped forward to “take a stand” for racial equality that won’t affect their bottom line, and now Halo developer 343 Industries is joining them.
Or, more specifically, 343 Industry’s fans have stepped up.
See, from June 19 to July 19, they were having a little charity event where you could buy cosmetics for Halo 5: Guardians, and 100 percent of the money raised would go to the NCAA Legal Defense and Education Fund, a group you’ll likely find familiar as they both educate people on injustice and help with the cases of people who were arrested unlawfully in their pursuit for justice.
Well, over the past month, people opened their wallets and hearts, and raised over $600,000 for the NCAA. Well done.
Of course, it would be better if 343 Industries donated some of their own money too, but sure. We’ll take what we can get.
