2K Games Launches Patch 1.01 for Mafia III

Sure, it fixes FPS, but what about the other issues?

A couple of days ago, we reported that 2K was working on a patch that aimed to lift the 30 FPS lock on Mafia III. Well, the patch has been out as of yesterday. 2K Games distributed the following message:

"PC players, reboot Mafia III because patch 1.01 is now available for download. This patch includes 30, 60, and unlimited frames-per-second options on PC. To select your framerate, just head to the display menu in-game. Just make sure to tailor the framerate settings to the power of your machine. This patch also includes improvements to keyboard remapping, so head to the controls menu to check out the options. Note: this patch resets keyboard mapping to default, so any changes you made to the controls previously will need to be customized after installing the patch."

Has this helped? For many, yes it has. However, others are still struggling post-patch. Just take a gander at some of the following comments:

"Have top specs, latest nvidia drivers...game still crashing. To all those on here blaming peoples 'PC's as crappy, get a grip. There is plenty of evidence that this is a buggy port, and it has been released well before prime time. I finally switched to teh console (PS4) version and everything is smooth and solid with very few issues..."

"Unlocked framerate cool.... but still no optimization, graphical issues and broken missions (trucks and boats don't spawn)."

"I still can't even start the game, I mean it starts but it's either stuck on black screen or loads way too slow to the point, that it's stuck on the loading screen (the one after menu with difficulty and aim help.)"

"I get like 40fps on hige preset i have a OG titan and a 3930k. this game need to be optimesed more"

"Crash-crash... And again CRASH!!!!! Perfect, "Hangar 13", just..., 'impressive' job..."

In other words, it's still quite a buggy port, but hopefully, with a few more patches, it will be almost bug-free.
