287 Game Makers Urge Gamers to Vote for Hillary Clinton

And the letter is littered in gaming references.

Yesterday, a letter was released pleading with gamers to vote for Hillary Clinton. At the bottom, the letter is filled with the signatures of key members of the gaming community. They range from Martin Ashwood-Smith (crossword constructor of the New York Times) to Mike Mearls of Dungeons & Dragons fame. Hell, even Wizards of the Coast founder, Peter Adkinson signed the list. Video games are also thoroughly represented with signatures from Alan Blaine (Red Dead Redemption and GTA 5) and more. By last count, 287 game creators have added their names to list.

We, the 287 people signing this letter, make many of the games and puzzles you play. As game creators, we call on game players all across this great nation to make the best move on Tuesday: voting for Hillary Clinton. Today there are more great games around than ever before, so we know you have options, but this Tuesday we need everyone to join in on the finals of the presidential tournament. Whether youre a dice chucker, a card slinger, a meeple monger, a puzzle solver, a button masher, or a keyboard clicker, we need you in the game.

You can take a look at the whole thing here. The letter lists both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in gaming analogies. Clinton is described as the aunt who bought us our first D&D Red Box. Trump is the guy who always insists we play Monopoly. Needless to say, they don't hold back any punches.

At this point, there is the question as to whether or not game creators are suitable voices in a political election. For that, I'm not sure. I do know one thing, though. I'm not a suitable voice to claim they aren't.
