We previously reported on a Reddit user organizing a 24-hour charity event for Extra Life within the VR social game, RecRoom. The event is well underway, and you can see it (or donate towards it) now!

RecRoom is a free-to-play game for PlayStation VR, Oculus, and HTC Vive. users are able to get together, be it friends or strangers, and participate in a number of games together such as Lazer Tag, Charades, Quest, Paintball, and more. Or, if they so desire, they can simply hang out in various social rooms.

At about 4 hours in as of writing this post, user xOGx_Hermes is raising money for popular gaming-centric charity, Extra Life. The Extra Life foundation works to support local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Having been around since 2008, they have raised over $30 million for sick and injured children. Extra Life has grown to be one of the most popular Charities in the gaming community.

If they achieve their donation goal of $500, there will be a giveaway for a Samsung VR Headset and Controller. This will happen either at the 24-hour mark or when the $500 goal is met. They recently announced a special bonus, the RecRoom developers will be doing a T-shirt giveaway at the 12-hour mark, or at the $250, whichever comes first.

You can watch the live stream yourself with the video below, or by following this link. If you would like to contribute towards their donation goal, you can do so via their donor link. I love seeing people try and make the world a better place with video games. Be sure to check them out and show your support.
