Shovel Knight has made his way around an industry, appearing in a wide variety of games, including Road Rash spiritual success, Road Redemption, Runbow, Indivisible, etc. Now the indie game icon will be featured in the popular 2D fighting game, Rivals of Aether.

According to an announcement from Dan Forance LLC and Yacht Club Games, upcoming DLC for Rivals of Aether will include the Shovel Knight as a playable fighter. It will also come with the Troupple Pond as a playable stage. Dan Forance LLC said the following about this update.

Many of his attacks seem simple on first glance but have intricacies in how you can use them, similar to his abilities in his own game. Shovel Knights signature Shovel Drop is a big part of his game plan in Rivals of Aether and sets up for his combos.

Rivals of Aether is a 2D platforming fighting game. Akin to Super Smash Bros, players focus on knocking their enemies off of the stage to win instead of the traditional health system. The game features a roster of anthropomorphized animals, each with associated elements and fighting styles.

The DLC will cost $4.99. Rivals of Aether is available on Xbox One and PC.
