Bethesda has really been cranking out the promotional endeavors for Fallout 76 lately. One example of this is new footage released, showing us for the first time what a nuclear blast looks like in-game.
When the developer first announced that players will be able to collect launch codes and initiate nuclear bombs on the map, fans were concerned for the griefing potential. Few things can be more frustrating than going about your business, only to have your entire home in radioactive ruins. While they assure us this isn't the issue, it isn't until we see it ourselves can we be sure.
According to the report by Comicbook.com, finding these codes will be no easy task. The ability to launch a nuke is only unlocked after completing the main storyline. Even then, they require significant time and effort to collect every part of the launch code. It's safe to say that you won't be seeing a mushroom cloud daily, given the time-sucking nature of a Bethesda RPG.
Players will also have the option to save a complete blueprint of their base and camps. This way if your safe spaces do get destroyed by the worst, you can rebuild with minimal difficulty. Or if you know of your appending demise, you can use the blueprint to relocate the constructions out of the danger zone.
Who knows, maybe you can safely hide away in Project Greek Island, the government bunker hidden in a resort that Major Nelson recently confirmed to be in the game.
Fallout 76 launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 14. Those who pre-order the game will be given access to the Break It Early Test Application, taking place on October 23 for Xbox One and 30 for PC and PS4.
EDIT:
It seems that Zenimax Media issued a take down to the original video. Fortunately, Bethesda themselves have uploaded an official intro video to Nukes in Fallout 76. The old video will be replaced with this at the time of this edit.
